Vinyl fencing solves the two biggest complaints homeowners have about wood: ongoing maintenance and finite lifespan. Quality vinyl fencing never needs stain or paint, doesn't rot or splinter, resists insects and moisture, and carries lifetime limited warranties from the major manufacturers. The tradeoff is higher upfront cost and a visual profile that's unmistakably 'vinyl' even in the better wood-grain finishes — some homeowners love the clean uniform look, others prefer real wood.
Dynasty Restoration installs premium-grade vinyl fencing from Bufftech, CertainTeed, and other established manufacturers. Budget vinyl is a trap — thin-wall posts that flex in wind, panels that yellow within 5 years, fastener systems that fail in the first big storm. The quality difference between $10/linear-foot vinyl and $30/linear-foot vinyl is enormous and shows up in year three.
Vinyl Fence Styles
Privacy (Tongue & Groove)
Full-privacy vinyl with interlocking panels. The most popular vinyl style. Available 4–8 feet tall.
Picket
Decorative open vinyl in spaced-picket style. Great front-yard accent fencing with the maintenance-free vinyl advantages.
Semi-Privacy / Spindle Top
Privacy bottom with open spindle or lattice top for airflow and visual interest.
Ranch Rail (2-3-4 Rail)
Open post-and-rail in vinyl. The vinyl version of split-rail fencing — same rustic look, none of the maintenance.
Pool-Code Compliant
Heights, picket spacing, and self-closing/self-latching gate hardware that meets Illinois pool barrier code (IPMC / IRC section R326).
Wood-Grain Finishes
Vinyl in textured cedar, oak, and mahogany grain patterns. Looks remarkably wood-like at first glance, zero maintenance.
Why Quality Matters So Much in Vinyl
Cheap vinyl fencing has three fatal flaws. One — thin walls. Budget vinyl posts have walls around 0.100"; quality posts are 0.135"+ and often have internal steel or aluminum reinforcement. In a Chicago wind event, thin-wall vinyl flexes and can snap. Two — UV additives. Quality vinyl uses titanium-dioxide and other UV stabilizers in the resin. Budget vinyl skimps on these, which is why cheap white vinyl turns yellow within 5 years. Three — fastener system. Premium vinyl uses concealed locking tabs and internal rail inserts; budget vinyl uses exposed screws that create stress points.
